BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - In the second weekend of spring play, the Indiana field hockey team defeated Miami (Oh.) and Ohio State on Saturday at the IU Field Hockey Complex, 1-0 and 4-3.
Sophomore forward Hannah McDermott scored the lone goal of Indiana's first matchup of the day against Miami as the Hoosiers defeated the RedHawks, 1-0.
The second match of the day saw Indiana do battle with Big Ten rival Ohio State. The Buckeyes jumped out to a 2-0 lead before freshman Maddie Latino put the Hoosiers on the board with a goal off a corner.
After Ohio State added another score, Indiana netted back-to-back goals to tie the game at 3-3 before sophomore Kate Barber recorded the game-winner for the Hoosiers.
