Alice Wright (rowing) and Alek Davila (men's tennis) have been honored as the March Scholar Athletes of the Month.
Alice Wright: Rowing, Junior, Telecommunications
"When Alice first started at IU she struggled to find the balance between athletics and academics.  However, once Alice settled on a major she enjoyed and found classes that she was really interested in, her grades significantly improved.  This was most evident during the fall semester.  Alice had a challenging course load, but through hard work, dedication and support of tutors and advisors she was able to have her best semester to date.  Alice has carried this academic dedication over into the spring and is expected to have another great semester." --Angie Krilich, Academic Advisor

Alek Davila: Men's Tennis, Junior, Psychology
"Alek has been doing well at IU over the past two and one-half years majoring in psychology.  Recently, however, this Hudson & Holland Scholar was selected to participate in the prestigious McNair Scholars Program for the duration of his time left at IU.  McNair Scholars perform research during the summer under the supervision of a faculty member, attend workshops relevant for post-graduate study, participate in GRE preparation coursework, and present their research findings at local and national conferences.  Alek represents the best in the true scholar-athlete." --Dan Woodside, Director of Academic Services
