BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - The Indiana women's water polo team is headed to Princeton University for their final road weekend of the regular season. The No. 16 Hoosiers will open the weekend on Friday, April 10 against No. 10 Princeton, followed by Brown and No. 20 Harvard on Saturday, April 11. Indiana will close the weekend slate against George Washington on Sunday, April 12.
The Hoosiers resumed their conference schedule last weekend against No. 17 Michigan in Ann Arbor. Indiana erased an early deficit and fought with Michigan through overtime, but the Wolverines emerged victorious in the sudden death overtime period. After that loss, the Hoosiers dropped to 1-1 in conference play. This weekend slate against four conference opponents will be crucial for Indiana as they head into the final quarter of the regular season.
Friday's game against No. 10 Princeton promises to be the marquee matchup of the weekend, as the Tigers and the Hoosiers are two of the major contenders for this season's CWPA title. Indiana faced Princeton earlier this season at the Princeton Invite, a game the Hoosiers won 9-8 in overtime. The game will tip off at 7:30 pm ET.
The Hoosiers will play two games on Saturday. First, Indiana will square off against Brown at 11 am ET. Indiana won their most recent meeting, 17-6, and leads the all-time series with a 17-4 record.
The Hoosiers will play their second Saturday game at 7:30 pm ET against No. 20 Harvard. The Crimson have assembled an impressive season so far, currently holding a 5-1 conference record. But the Hoosiers have won all 12 games between these two schools, most recently by a score of 7-5.
Indiana will conclude their road schedule on Sunday at 11:40 am ET against George Washington. The last time that the Hoosiers and Colonials met was in 2011 at the Maryland Invitational, which the Hoosiers won 13-8. The Hoosiers have never lost to the Colonials in their nine meetings.
