Hoosiers Advance to Finals at Big Ten Championships

Start List for Final Day
EAST LANSING, Mich. -- The Indiana track and field team had several athletes advance to finals in their respective events and score points for the team on day two of the Big Ten Outdoor Track and Field Championships on Saturday.
Michelle Adeniyi finished in seventh-place in the heptathlon with a personal best of 4,818 points, the eight best mark in school history.
Josh Roche finished in sixth-place in the 3,000m steeplechase in a time of 8:56.01. Ari Nelson finished seventh in the long jump with a season-best mark of 6.05m (19'10.25).
Two Hoosiers finished in the top-10 in the decathlon as Dylan Anderson finished in seventh-place (7072 points) and Stephen Keller finished in ninth-place (7019 points).
Advancing to finals on the women's side Brianna Johnson and Brenna Calder both made it in the 1,500m run. Johnson came back to finish in seventh-place in the steeplechase in a time of 10:29.07.
In the men's 1,500m for the first time under Head Coach Ron Helmer, the Hoosiers qualified four runners for the final with Owen Skeete, Rorey Hunter, Matt Schwartzer and Kyle Duvall.
Senior Derrick Morgan (400m) and sophomore Tre'tez Kinnaird (800m) also qualified for finals. Kinnaird won his heat and had the second best overall time on the day in 1:48.92.
The Hoosiers will also have more field event athletes compete tomorrow as well as 4X100m and 4X400m relays. The final day at the 2015 Big Ten Outdoor Track and Field Championships will get underway at 11:00 a.m. and the first event for IU will be the men's pole vault with Terry Batemon at 12:00 p.m.
