Hoosiers Complete Day 1 at NCAA Championships

EUGENE, Ore. -- Terry Batemon (pole vault) and Rorey Hunter (1500m) competed for the Indiana track and field team on the first day of the NCAA Championships on Wednesday at Hayward Field.
Hunter finished seventh in his heat and 17th overall in a time of 3:46.43 in the semifinal of the 1,500m.
Batemon, the Big Ten Outdoor Champion, cleared his first height of 5.15m in the pole vault, but could not clear the next height and finished in 20th place in his first NCAA Championships.
Tomorrow Amanda Behnke, who finished second at the Big Ten Outdoor Championships, will race in the 10,000m run at 9:38 p.m. ET. The race will be televised on ESPN.
