Hoosiers Host Final Home Meet of Season

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. -- The Indiana track and field team will host their final home meet of the 2014-15 season with the Billy Hayes Invitational on Saturday May 2 at the Robert C. Haugh Track and Field Complex.
The meet will get underway with the women's hammer throw and men's javelin competitions at 11:00 a.m. ET. Events on the track will begin at 12:00 p.m. ET with the men's 100m hurdle prelims. The final event will be the men's 4X400m relay, scheduled for 5:00 p.m. ET.
After this meet, the Hoosiers will get into the championship portion of the schedule with the Big Ten Championships in East Lansing, May 15-17. Follow Big Tens will be the NCAA East Regional, May 28-30 in Jacksonville, Fla. The NCAA Outdoor Championships will be June 10-13 in Eugene, Ore.
Most recently the Hoosiers competed at the Penn Relays in Philadelphia, Pa. and the Drake Relays in Des Moines, Iowa. The women's 4X800m relay set a new IU school record with a time of 8:42.41 at the Penn Relays. In the women's 4X1500m at the Penn Relays, the Hoosiers ran the fourth fastest time in school history with a fifth-place finish in 18:00.43.
Brianna Johnson, who ran the fastest leg on the 4X1500m relay and earlier this year set the sixth fastest time in school history in the 1500m (4:22.48) will compete in the 3,000m steeplechase on Saturday.
On the men's side Daniel Kuhn and Tre'tez Kinnaird, who hold the second and third best 800m times in the Big Ten will compete in the event at the Billy Hayes Invitational.
IU alum and Olympian Derek Drouin is scheduled to compete in the high jump at 3:00 p.m. ET.
