Hoosiers Heading to World University Games

Indiana sending four swimmers and a coach to Korea.
BLOOMINGTON, Ind. — Indiana University will be represented by four swimmers and one coach at the 2015 World University Games, July 4-10 in Gwangju, Korea.
Junior Anze Tavcar and incoming freshman Lilly King will be joined by recent graduate Justine Ress and 2013 IU Female Athlete of the Year Lindsay Vrooman in the pool. IU head coach Ray Looze will serve as head coach for Team USA.
Tavcar will represent his native Slovenia in Korea, swimming the 50, 100 and 200 freestyle events. Ress will represent France, where she will swim the 50, 100 and 200 backstroke.
King and Vrooman are members of Team USA, with King swimming the 100 breaststroke and Vrooman taking part in the 400, 800 and 1,500 freestyles.
This multi-sport event is scheduled every two years with the Summer Games attracting more than 10,000 athletes and staff from more than 150 countries.
To be eligible for the Games, an athlete must be an officially registered student who is progressing towards a degree at an accredited university or be a former student of a university who has received his/her degree in 2014. Eligible participants must be citizens of the country they represent and must be between the ages of 17 and 28 on the 1st of January, 2015.
