BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - We asked some members of the team for some of the best advice that Coach Crean and the staff have given them since they have known each other. The answers from the players are below:
James Blackmon Jr. --"If you maintain your work ethic every day, you will get better and everything will fall into place."
Ryan Burton -- "All the little things do matter. Everything you do reflects on the program. Shaking hands, how you treat people, eye contact. Understand how much IU basketball means in the state.
Yogi Ferrell --"Get better at something everyday. It may be in basketball, it may be in school or it may be in your faith but each day is an opportunity to improve as a person."
Collin Hartman --"Be the same person energy-wise everyday. That really stuck with me and helped me get to where I was last year."
Emmitt Holt --"Never be satisfied. Last year when I got comfortable with how I played, I learned a valuable lesson. No matter how much success you have, you can always get better."
Robert Johnson --"Next play. You have to move on quickly. If you do something good, great, build on it. If it doesn't go your way, learn from it and improve."
Tim Priller --"I really don't have one that stands out. He is looking to get the best out of you each day. Whatever he says, it is always about helping us become a better player and a better person."
Troy Williams --"Find out what your identity is. Improvement is a daily process. Make others around you better."
Nick Zeisloft --"Be willing to learn, whether its from your teammates or the coaches. The first couple of months for me I had a lot thrown at me. It was all positive and I benefited from it."
