BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - Indiana men's golf signee Trevor Ranton used a record-setting performance to earn the win at the 2015 CN Future Links Pacific Championship in Qualicum Beach, B.C. over the weekend.
He opened the weekend with a 7-under round of 65 to take the early lead, setting a new course record in the process. he followed that up with a 3-under score of 69 in round two before closing with a 2-under 70 in the final round to win by five strokes.
"I was pretty happy with (my performance)," Ranton said. "Right from the start, I was playing well. I started the tournament off with two straight birdies, so I felt comfortable on the course. I was hitting a lot of good shots and making a lot of putts."
Ranton is a first-year member of the Team Canada Development Squad and will look to carry over this momentum into the CN Futre Links Ontario tournament coming up - a tournament he placed second in last year.
