Tong, who was named to the All-Big Ten first team last week, led the Hoosiers in stroke average at 73.53 and posted four top-10 finishes and six top-25 finishes in 2014-15. Her best finish of the year came three weeks ago at the Lady Buckeye Invitational where she was second in the field with a 1-under score of 215. Tong also finished tied for sixth at the Betsy Rawls Longhorn Invitational last October, and the Lady Puerto Rico Classic in February. She was fifth in the field at the Briar's Creek Invitational this past March.
This is the second NCAA Regional appearance for Tong. Tong was part of the Hoosiers squad that compete at the 2013 NCAA Regional in Norman, Oklahoma. Tong posted scores of 70-74-76 in her regional appearance, placing tied for 26th.
Last week at the team's end of the year luncheon, Tong took home the Cream and Crimson Cup award, as well as Hoosier of the Year.
