Senior Katie Klyczek was named to the 2015 Women's Tennis All-Big Ten Team. It marks her third straight year of receiving the honor.
BLOOMINGTON, Ind. -- Indiana women's tennis senior Katie Klyczek was named to the 2015 All-Big Ten team by the conference coaches on Thursday. This is the third-straight year that Klyczek has earned all-conference honors. She was also named IU's sportsmanship award winner.
Klyczek becomes just the 13th player in program history to earn All-Big Ten recognition three times in an IU career and the first since Leslie Hureau (2010, 2011, 2012, 2013) did it four times in her career. Klyczek earned first team all-conference laurels in 2013 and second team honors last year. This year's voting by the coaches elected 14 players for just one All-Big Ten team.
The Munster, Ind., native played the entire 2015 dual schedule in the No. 1 singles position and has been at the top of the Hoosier lineup in each of the past two seasons. Klyczek finished her senior campaign with a 15-9 singles record in dual play with a winning record in Big Ten matches. She finished with a 22-11 mark overall on the year in singles. In doubles, Klyczek compiled a 21-13 mark.
As a team, the Hoosiers finished the 2015 campaign with a 16-8 record and a 7-4 mark in Big Ten play. IU's seven conference wins were the program's most since 2008. That total earned Indiana the No. 5 seed in this year's Big Ten Women's Tennis Tournament, its highest seed in the tournament since 2010.
