Several IU alumni competed at the USATF Championships in Eugene, Ore.
EUGENE, Ore. – Two former Indiana track and field student-athletes narrowly missed spots on the Team USA squad for the World Championships, on the final day at the USATF Outdoor Track and Field Championships on Sunday at Hayward Field.
IU alum Molly Ludlow, who won both of her first two rounds in the 800m, finished fourth in the 800m final. Ludlow ran 2:00.09 and missed the third world championships qualifying spot by four hundredths of a second.
IU alum Andy Bayer ran a career-best of 8:21.44 to finish in fourth-place in the 3,000m steeplechase. Bayer wasn't as close to the third position, which was his Nike Bowerman Track Club teammate Daniel Huling in a time of 8:14.11. IU alum Sarah Pease finished in 10th place in the women's 3,000m steeplechase race.
IU alum Rex Parker finished in 12th place in the triple jump and IU assistant coach Cory Martin finished in ninth-place in the shot put.
