The Hoosiers will take on the Yellow Jackets on Dec. 2, 2015 inside of Assembly Hall in the ninth annual Big Ten/ACC Challenge.
BLOOMINGTON, Ind. -- The Indiana women's basketball team will host Georgia Tech in the annual Big Ten/ACC Challenge in Assembly Hall on Dec. 2, 2015. Both conferences made the official announcement of this year's pairings on Wednesday.
"We are excited for our fans that we will be hosting Georgia Tech in the Big Ten/ACC Challenge inside of Assembly Hall," head coach Teri Moren said. "MaChelle (Joseph) is a close friend and I have the upmost respect for her and the program she has built in Atlanta. This will be a tremendous test for us but one I know will help prepare us for Big Ten play."
This year's meeting will mark the first ever matchup between the Hoosiers and the Yellow Jackets. IU has won its Big Ten/ACC Challenge game in each of the last three years with a win on the road at Boston College last year and victories over Virginia Tech (2013) and Clemson (2012) in Bloomington in prior years. Indiana is 5-3 all-time in the event and has won four of its last five Challenge games.
Moren spent three years as Associate Head Coach at Georgia Tech (2007-10) alongside current Yellow Jacket head coach MaChelle Joseph. Moren and Joseph were also college teammates at Purdue.
Challenge games will be contested in a two-day format on Wednesday, Dec. 2 and Thursday, Dec. 3. The Big Ten and ACC split last year's challenge, 7-7.
Game times, as well as broadcast coverage, will be announced at a later date. The entire lineup of the ninth annual Big Ten/ACC Challenge can be found below.
