Hoosiers Release 2015 Volleyball Schedule

IU volleyball will play 13 matches at home in the 2015 season.
BLOOMINGTON, Ind. -- The Indiana volleyball team will play 13 matches at home and host the Indiana Invitational with a group that will include five seniors for the 2015 season.
The 2014 season saw the Hoosiers win their most matches since the 2010 season and had three players record at least 300 kills.
The Hoosiers will open the 2015 season at the Middle Tennessee Blue Raider Bash Aug. 28-29 against Bowling Green, Cleveland State and Middle Tennessee State.
The next weekend the Hoosiers travel south to San Marcos, Texas and the Delta Zeta Classic hosted by Texas State Sept. 4-5 with matches against Lamar, UT-San Antonio and Texas State.
The home opener at University Gym is Sept. 11 against Virginia Tech at 7:00 p.m. ET to open the Indiana Invitational. The next day the Hoosiers square off against Bowling Green and Northern Arizona.
"I think we put together a very strong and challenging schedule for an upper-class type of team," IU coach Sherry Dunbar-Kruzan said. "You want to put your team in the best position possible to get wins and RPI strength of schedule to be one of the 64 teams that make the NCAA tournament."
The final pre-season tournament has the Hoosiers traveling west to the Hampton Inn & Suites Northern Colorado Volleyball Classic Sept. 18-19 with matches against Eastern Kentucky, Utah State and Northern Colorado.
The Hoosiers return rising junior Taylor Lebo, who tied for the fifth most aces in a single season this year with 51. Through two seasons Megan Tallman has tallied 1,848 assists, ninth on the all-time list and rising senior Courtney Harnish became the third Hoosier to record at least 445 digs in a season in 2014.
Indiana will open Big Ten play in the state of Michigan with matches against Michigan State (Sept. 25) and at Michigan (Sept. 26).
The Hoosiers will resume their rivalry with in-state foe Purdue at University Gym on Wednesday Oct. 7 and travel to West Lafayette on Saturday Oct. 10.
Season tickets are available starting with reserved front row seating in the Red Zone with limited availability for $52. Meadowood residents can also buy special reserved season tickets for $52. General admission bleacher seating is available at $39 for adults and $13 for youth (ages 3-18). Indiana University students and faculty and staff are free with a valid IU ID.
Single match tickets can also be purchased for $5 for adults, $3 for youth and $2 for groups of 25 or more.
