During the 2014-15 season, Kirk Haston got the opportunity to bring the high school boy's basketball team that he coaches to Assembly Hall. As a All-American in 2001 at IU, Haston averaged 14.6 points and 8.7 rebounds while leading the Big Ten in scoring and ranking second in rebounding.
Here's what Haston had to say about the return trip to Assembly Hall with his team:
"Coach Crean and his staff really treated them great. They never had an opportunity to see a college team like that practice and then we had a chance to watch the game. Coach Crean brought my team down on the court, let them talk to his players and took a big team picture at center court at Assembly Hall. It was really special for me to be there with my team and it was special for those guys to get to experience it. I really thank Coach Crean and his staff. They were great."
