When the Big Ten/ACC Challenge takes place in December, the game featuring Indiana and defending national champion Duke could play a big part in deciding which conference earns bragging rights for the following year. The game will be one of the last three played in the series this year, with the contest tipping off at 9:15 p.m. ET, Wednesday, Dec. 2, and will air on ESPN.
The Hoosiers have won three of their last four Challenge matchups winning at NC State (2011) and taking home contests against North Carolina (2013) and Pittsburgh (2015).
This will be the third time that IU and Duke will face off in the event which began in 1999. They last met in 2006 when the Blue Devils captured a 54-51 contest at home against IU . In 2005, the Blue Devils won 75-67 in Assembly Hall.
The Hoosiers, ranked 14th in ESPN's latest preseason poll, could play as many as four games against preseason nationally ranked squads in the non-conference season. IU will play #6 Duke, #16 Notre Dame and could see #5 Kansas and #18 Vanderbilt in the Maui Invitational. Duke also will be the second ACC squad the Hoosiers will take on. IU will open their week in Maui against Wake Forest.
