Arndt Takes 12th on 3m at USA Championships

ORLANDO - Indiana junior Joshua Arndt advanced to the finals of the 3-meter springboard on Wednesday at the 2015 USA Diving ATT National Diving Championships and came away with a 12th place finish. It's the second straight day he has reached the finals at the event after he earned a sixth place finish in the 1-meter springboard on Tuesday.
Arndt opened the day by finishing 14th in the quarterfinals with a score of 324.70. Then in the semifinals, he posted a score of 343.50 to finish 12th and move on to the finals this evening.
In the finals, he started with a inward 2 1/2 Somersault pike dive and received a score of 51.00. He improved his score on the third dive - a reverse 2 1/2 Somersault pike - and received a score of 67.50. But his best dive of the finals was his fifth dive where he registered a score of 70.95 on a reverse 2 1/2 Somersault 1 1/2 twist pike dive.
While Arndt is done competing at the event, senior Lacey Houser will be taking part in the women's 3-meter springboard on Thursday.
On the final day of the FINA World Cup in Moscow, former IU swimmer Cody Miller finished third in the 100 breaststroke with his time of 1:00.07. He will move on to compete in the FINAL World Cup event in Paris later this week.
