ROSEMONT, Ill. – The Big Ten Conference announced its 2015 women's soccer preseason coaches poll and players to watch list, featuring Indiana senior goalkeeper Sarah Stone, junior defender Marissa Borschke and sophomore forward Kayla Smith.
Anchored by Stone and Borschke, the Hoosiers allowed just 25 goals last season, the fewest since surrendering 22 in 2009. The Indiana defense recorded five shutouts on the year, including two straight against Purdue and Michigan State to close out the season. Stone started 18 games for the Hoosiers in the net, making 69 saves on a .742 save percentage, while Borschke got the start in every game of the season.
Smith's freshman campaign included 18 starts with three goals and three assists. One of her most memorable scores came on a game-winner against Michigan State to close out the season.
