BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - Former Indiana Hoosier men's basketball star Cody Zeller is returning to Bloomington.
Zeller will be at Cook Hall on Saturday, August 29 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. to sign books with his parents, Steve and Lorri, upon the release of their new book "Raising Boys The Zeller Way." The Zellers will sign copies of the book you may have already purchased or the IU Varsity Shop will have copies available for purchase in Cook Hall.
"I'm excited to come back to IU, a place that means so much to me," Cody says. "It will be especially neat to be with my parents at Cook Hall as they promote their book and share their story. I have so many amazing memories from southern Indiana, whether it was playing for the Hatchets or the Hoosiers, and I can't think of a better place to have a signing. I cannot wait to be back home."
In "Raising Boys The Zeller Way," Steve and Lorri provide an inside look at the principles they implemented in their household and share transparent and entertaining anecdotes about their parenting journey. A matchless story in Indiana's rich basketball history, Luke, Tyler, and Cody each finished at the top of their high school class, won Indiana's coveted Mr. Basketball award, played NCAA Division I basketball, and earned a contract in the NBA.
The book alternates between Steve and Lorri's voice and includes comments from each of their boys throughout the manuscript, making it unlike any other book in the market today. The book is recommended for both parents and basketball enthusiasts, particularly in the state of Indiana.
Zeller played two seasons for the Hoosiers and earned first-team All-American honors as a sophomore. He scored the final six points and keyed a defensive stop to lead IU to a Big Ten championship clinching win at Michigan on the final day of the 2013 season. It was IU's first outright title in the Big Ten in 20 years. He helped IU to the Sweet Sixteen each season and was selected as the fourth pick of the NBA Draft by the Charlotte Hornets in June, 23013.
