Hoosiers Help with Furniture Drive for International Students
8/25/2015 9:51:00 AM | Track and Field
BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – The Indiana track and field team helped out in a big way and contributed to over 500 IU international students receiving much needed furniture.
The Sherwood Oaks Church held its annual volunteer event where they helped international students select donated furniture, which was then delivered to their homes.
The track and field team helped students select furniture and then loaded the furniture onto trucks to deliver to students. This year's freshman class at Indiana includes students from 33 different countries.
"It was a fun experience helping out the international students and getting to work with various individuals throughout the community," junior Chanli Mundy said. "I think us as student-athletes branching out to help different groups of people in Bloomington makes our campus and town whole."
