Welcome Back Student-Athletes

Welcome back festivities for IU student-athletes kicked off with the Freshmen Excellence Academy Induction Sunday that started in the Henke Hall of Champions and ended on the football practice field. The Class of 2019 began their journey by gathering together for introductions and words of wisdom from head coaches, administrators and Hoosier HEROES peer mentors. As is tradition, "Mr. Indiana", former player and coach and current Assistant Athletic Director, Mark Deal, began the IU Fight Song tutorial. But in true 24 Sports 1 Team spirit, the Class of 2019 descended upon the football practice field to connect with their football classmates, who took a break from practice to join them in performing for the rest of the team.
The Sunday before the first day of classes marked the date for the annual Welcome Back Splash for all student-athletes and coaches. Part pool party, part cookout, part dance party, the Splash is the opportunity for that last breath of summer before the New Year begins.
Students are now back in school and the fall sports schedule is in full swing. We wish the best to our student-athletes, both on and off the playing field.
