BLOOMINGTON, Ind. -- As Indiana enters game week for the first time in 2015, IUHoosiers.com reflects on some of the best quotes from 2015 preseason camp.
The Hoosiers will be in action Saturday at 4 p.m. at Memorial Stadium taking on the Southern Illinois Salukis.
Head coach Kevin Wilson: "It should be a successful team. When we got here, our initial definition of success was winning today, which is getting one day better, one day better. We're not going to go public with a lot of our goals, but we set some standards pretty high."
Offensive coordinator Kevin Johns: "It's not a secret, our offensive line will anchor everything we do. It will be the strength of our team this season without a doubt. We're really comfortable with the guys we have rotating in there and think they will be a very successful group."
Running backs coach Deland McCullough on sophomore Devine Redding: "From the moment Tevin (Coleman) left, I'm talking about immediately, he became the leader in our room. He's done a great job of following it up not only with his words, but his actions. He's an attention to detail guy. He's a football junkie, loves the game and knows his stuff. He's doing all the things that a leader needs to do."
Wilson on redshirt junior guard Dan Feeney: "He walks in and puts his socks on good."
Senior tight end Anthony Corsaro: "We really feel like we have four number one tight ends. We don't need one. We have four. And you know, four is better than one in all the math classes I took. So we feel really comfortable with that."
Linebackers coach William Inge: "It's been a blast working with Reakwon Jones, Gabe Estes and Omari Stringer because we've seen them learn. It's like a baby giraffe. Initially, it may not be able to stand up. But then it finds out, 'Okay, where's the water? Where's the food?' Then it can stand up. It can eat. It can succeed in life."
Redshirt sophomore cornerback Rashard Fant: "Coach (Brandon) Shelby, you know he's feeling some type of way. He's got his bald head now that he's working with a bunch of us young guys again. I guess we're rubbing off on him or something."
Redshirt junior wide receiver Ricky Jones: "I haven't really had the chance to show people who the real Ricky Jones is. This year is my chance. I'm just excited to be healthy and ready to go. I've got some great teammates around me, and I know this could be a good year for me to really come out."
Fifth-year senior punter Erich Toth: "We specialists usually work in a little world of our own away from the other guys at practice. Sometimes, I feel like guys forget we're on the team, so I like to remind them."
Redshirt sophomore safety Chase Dutra: "We're excited. I think the whole team is excited. I know it's easy to say that, but I have a lot of confidence in my teammates and coaches that we're going to turn some heads."
