Indiana Advances To Championship Bracket at East-West Match Play

MADISON, Wisconsin – The Indiana women's golf team posted team scores of 292 and 298 on Sunday in the 36-hole stroke play portion of the East West Match Play Challenge at University Ridge Golf Course. The total score of 590 is good for fourth place and a spot in the championship bracket of match play.

The match play portion of the event will get underway on Monday with the Hoosiers battling the No. 1 seed, Colorado, in the first match. Also advancing to the championship bracket with IU and Colorado were Michigan and Oregon.

Freshman Eva Domingo led IU in the stroke play portion on Sunday, opening with a 1-over par 73 before following it up with a 1-under par 71 in the afternoon to finished tied for 7^th.

Erin Harper, another freshman who led IU last week at the season opening event in South Carolina, had another strong showing, as she finished tied for 15^th with rounds of 72 and 76 to sit at 4-over par.

Ana Sanjuan was steady in her two rounds on Sunday, opening with a 76 in the morning before trimming two shots off that score in the afternoon to post 74 and a tie for 21^st.

Senior Chamille Chevalier carded the round of the day for IU, opening with a 1-under par round of 71 in the morning. But she struggled in the afternoon and posted a score of 80 and she finished in a tie for 24^th.

The fifth player competing for the team is Pear Siriko, who registered rounds of 78 and 77 to place 40^th individually.

Thresa-Ann Jedra, competing as an individual, rebounded in the afternoon to log a 74 after opening with an 83 in the morning. Jedra will play Gillian Vance from Colorado in the consolation portion of the individual match play bracket.
