IU Athletics, Bloomington YMCA Team Up For Community Event

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – The Indiana University Department of Intercollegiate Athletics and the Monroe County YMCA have announced the YMCA Golf Carnival hosted by the IU Golf Course, an event that will offer fun, food, games and golf for people of all ages in the Bloomington Community.
Golf experience is not required and those without experience are encouraged to attend to learn about the game and be introduced to it in a fun and relaxed atmosphere.
The event will take place at the IU Golf Course on Thursday, Sept. 24 from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Admission and parking will be free for all in attendance.
Among the games and activities that will be available are:
•Long Drive contest (adults and youth)
•Clinics for juniors and ladies
•Putt-Putt golf course
•Variety of "Kids Zone" activities
•Dunk Tank
•Autograph signing by IU student-athletes
•Face painting
Members of the Indiana University men's and women's golf programs will conduct clinics on a variety of aspects relating to the game of golf. Other IU student athletes will also be in attendance to sign autographs and help run the various games and stations.
Representatives of the Monroe County YMCA will be on hand to explain the importance of staying active and eating right and talk about the wide array of services they offer to the community.
Prizes will be awarded for some games while others will allow you to compete against family or friends.
