Ferrell Earns B1G Player of the Week

ROSEMONT, Ill. – Indiana senior guard Kevin Yogi Ferrell was named the Big Ten Player of the Week, the conference office announced on Monday (Jan. 25).
Ferrell averaged 16.5 points, 7.5 assists while connecting on 8-of-13 3-point field goals and 12-of-23 field goals overall as the Hoosiers extended their winning streak to 12 games with wins over Illinois and Northwestern.
Also, Ferrell became the all-time leader in assists at Indiana during Tuesday's game against Illinois. He currently has 559 career assists, and continues to be the Big Ten's active leader in scoring (1,720) and assists.
The last Indiana player to be named Big Ten Player of the Week was Troy Williams on Dec. 22, 2014. It is the first conference player of the week honor for Ferrell, who also earned freshman of the week honors on two occasions during the 2012-13 season. This season, Thomas Bryant has earned freshman of the week accolades twice.
The Hoosiers continue Big Ten play on Tuesday when they travel to Madison, Wisconsin, to take on the Wisconsin Badgers. Tipoff is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. ET on ESPN.
