BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - Indiana head coach Tom Crean and senior guard Kevin "Yogi" Ferrell provided some comments as they prepared for Tuesday's game at Wisconsin (7 p.m. ET, ESPN).
The Hoosiers enter the game riding a 12-game winning streak, which is the second-longest active winning streak in the country. Ferrell was named to the Oscar Robertson Trophy Midseason Watch List by the USBWA on Monday and also earned the first Big Ten Player of the Week honor of his career.
Tom Crean on Wisconsin:
"Wisconsin is playing at a very high level and playing with great confidence. They never beat themselves so you have to execute and defend with a real purpose and energy."
"They do a tremendous job getting to the foul line and getting the ball inside. We have to do our work early defensively and be committed to the whole possession. Nigel Hayes can hurt you so many ways and they all play off of each other very well."
"When you have guys like Nigel Hayes, Bronson Koenig and the other guards who get guys great looks you can't let them just pick you apart. Our ball pressure and help defense will be really tested."
"We have got to do a much better job with the turnovers that we did the last time against them."
Kevin "Yogi" Ferrell
On playing on the road in the Big Ten:
"I think it is important that we have a defensive mindset on the road. We have to be ready for a full 40-minute game and can't let down on any possession."
On taking it one game at a time:
"Coach Crean has done a great job of setting the tone when it comes to living in the moment. While we have a lot of confidence on both ends of the floor, each game is different and one play can make the difference."
On being named Big Ten Player of the Week:
"It's a great honor but I think it's more reflective of how our team played last week. When you win, those things take care of themselves."
