Postgame Notes
• Indiana hit 32-of-42 free throws (76.2 percent) in the game, marking the second-most free throws made and attempted in program history in a single contest. Those free throw totals are the most makes and attempts ever by an IU team in a Big Ten game.
• The 32 made free throws and the 42 attempts are the most by an IU team since the Hoosiers shot 34-of-50 from the charity stripe against UAB on March 21, 1991.
• The win over Michigan gave Indiana its first victory over the Wolverines since a 62-60 triumph on Jan. 14, 2010 in Bloomington.
• IU is 6-0 at home this season in Assembly Hall.
• The Hoosiers outscored the Wolverines 32-8 from the free throw line. IU has outscored opponents from the line this season 230-109 (+121).
• Indiana trailed by nine, 58-49, with 5:48 remaining in the fourth quarter. IU used a 12-0 run over the next 4:31 to take a 61-58 lead with 1:17 on the clock before Michigan forced overtime with a 3-point field goal with 28 seconds to go.
• Michigan came into the game outrebounding opponents by a plus-9.8 margin per game. Indiana outrebounded the Wolverines 43-35 in the win. The Hoosiers are 6-1 in games where they outrebound an opponent this year.
• IU outscored the Wolverines 16-8 in overtime. Twelve of those points came from the free throw line, including the last 10.
• The Hoosiers limited Michigan to shoot just 14-of-34 (33.3 percent) in the second half and OT.
• Sophomore Amanda Cahill just missed a double-double with a team-high 19 points with nine rebounds to go along with a season-best four blocks with two steals and two assists. She shot 6-of-9 from the field and 7-of-8 from the free throw line.
• Cahill has scored in double figures in 12 games this year and has had seven or more rebounds in 11 contests.
• Sophomore Tyra Buss tallied 18 points in the game, 16 of which came in the second half. She added three assists, three rebounds, a steal and her first block of the season.
• Buss has scored in double figures in every game this season, and dating back to last year, 18-consecutive games. She also hit 8-of-11 free throws.
• Junior Alexis Gassion scored in double digits for the 11th time this year and for the sixth game consecutively with 14 points. She also added six boards and two steals and nailed 8-of-10 free throws.
• Junior Jenn Anderson skied for a career-high 11 rebounds in the win and added two blocks, two steals and four points.
• Tyshee Towner came off the bench to tally seven points to lead IU's reserves to along with three rebounds and a steal.
