BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – Indiana Women's Soccer head coach Amy Berbary has announced that Haleigh Guerra (Canton, Ohio/Jackson/Internationals Soccer Club) will transfer to Indiana from the University of Texas and will enroll in classes at IU for the 2016 spring semester.
The Canton, Ohio native redshirted the 2015 season with the Longhorns, giving her four seasons of eligibility with Indiana.
"We are thrilled to welcome Haleigh back to the Midwest after gaining valuable experience at Texas in her first semester," said Berbary. "She is a person of great character with unwavering morals and a drive to succeed at the highest level on the field."
Guerra played club soccer for Internationals SC ECNL, where she helped lead the team to three Ohio North State Cup championships, a 2012 USYSA Region II title and a bronze medal at the 2012 USYSA Nationals. Additionally, Guerra participated in Region II camp as part of the Olympic Development Team and the 2013 ECNL Player Development Pool. Guerra did not play at Jackson during her junior and senior seasons in order to focus on ECNL and regional/national player camps.
Guerra, who was named on the Top Drawer Soccer Girl's Academy Top 150 player listing, is the daughter of Paul and Robin Guerra. She has two older sisters, Rebecca and Rachel.
