Game Notes: Indiana vs. Nebraska

Setting The Scene
•Indiana (3-2, 1-1 B1G East) welcomes No. 10/9 Nebraska (5-0, 2-0 B1G West) for IU's 104th Homecoming on Saturday, Oct 15. Kickoff is set for 3:30 p.m. EDT at Memorial Stadium (52,929; FieldTurf) on ABC (ESPN2 reverse mirror).
•The Hoosiers own a 44-53-6 record on Homecoming.
•Saturday marks the first meeting between the two programs since the Cornhuskers joined the Big Ten.
•Indiana leads the all-time series, 9-7-3, with the last meeting coming in 1978.
•The teams will meet for the third time at Memorial Stadium (1976, 1978).
•IU last defeated a top 10 team on Oct. 10, 1987, a 31-10 win at No. 9 Ohio State.
•BTN Tailgate will air live just south of Mellencamp Pavilion from 10:30 a.m.-noon on Saturday.
The Coaches
•Kevin Wilson is in his sixth season as Indiana head coach. Wilson led IU to the 2015 New Era Pinstripe Bowl, the program's first postseason appearance since 2007. He has mentored three first team All-Americans, 25 players who have either moved on to the NFL or received camp invites and a five-year program record 111 Academic All-Big Ten honorees. The offense has set 56 school records during his tenure.
•Mike Riley is 11-7 (.611) in his second season as Nebraska head coach. Riley owns a 104-87 (.545) record in his 16th overall year with two stints at Oregon State (1997-98, 2003-14). He also served as San Diego Chargers head coach from 1999-2001.

•IU leads the Big Ten in passing offense (293.0, 26th nationally) and is 4th in total offense (453.6, 39th).
•Redshirt junior Richard Lagow leads the Big Ten in yards per completion (15.7, 6th nationally), yards per attempt (9.4, 7th), passing yards per game (292.0, 21st) and passing yards (1,460, 26th), and he is 2nd in touchdowns (11, 31st), total offense (285.8, 33rd) and completions per game (18.6, 45th).
•Indiana's defense limited No. 2 Ohio State to 93 passing yards and 383 total yards. The Buckeyes entered the game averaging 57.0 points, 332.0 rushing yards, 244.2 passing yards and 576.2 total yards.
•The 93 passing yards allowed by the Hoosiers marked the first time holding a Big Ten opponent under 100 passing yards since Wisconsin (41 yards) on Nov. 11, 2012.
•IU is tied for 2nd in the Big Ten in defensive TDs (2, T-12th nationally), 5th in pass efficiency defense (111.77, 24th) and in first downs allowed (94, 25th), and tied for 6th in takeaways (9) and interceptions (5).
•For the third straight week, junior LB Tegray Scales led the team in tackles. He recorded his third straight game in double digits at OSU with 10 stops (7 solo), and he added a quarterback hurry and a pass breakup.
•This comes after Scales matched a career-high 13 tackles in the win over No. 17 Michigan State after he collected 13 stops the previous week against Wake Forest.
•With their victory over No. 17/16 MSU, the Hoosiers won the Old Brass Spittoon for the first time since 2006.
•It marked IU's first win over a ranked opponent since a 31-27 triumph at No. 18 Missouri on Sept. 20, 2014.
•Indiana last defeated a ranked Big Ten opponent on Oct. 14, 2006, a 31-28 victory over No. 15 Iowa.
