Third Annual Candy Stripe 3-on-3 Tournament to Take Place Oct. 21-22

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – The Indiana University Student Athletic Board will host the third annual Candy Stripe Classic 3-on-3 Basketball Tournament on Oct. 21-22 in Simon Skjodt Assembly Hall. The tournament is part of the events leading up to Hoosier Hysteria which is slated for Saturday, Oct. 22 at 6:30 p.m. ET.
The tournament is open to Indiana University students in good standing and participants must be 18 years of age or older. Teams can sign up on a first come, first serve basis at IUHoosiers.com as no walk-up team registrations will be accepted. There is a limit of five players per team and individuals can only play for one team. Men, women and co-ed teams are all welcome.
There is no registration fee, but it is required that each team donate a minimum of 30 canned food items that will benefit the Hoosier Hills Food Bank. Failure to bring canned food items will result in an automatic disqualification for the team.
Games will be played to 11 by 1's and 2's and winning teams must win by two points. A 15 minute time limit will be in place and whoever is leading at the end of 15 minutes will be the winning team. The bracket and game schedule will be emailed to team captains after registration is complete.
Teams that advance to the semifinals and championship games will play in front of thousands from Hoosier Nation on Saturday, Oct. 22 as part of Hoosier Hysteria on Branch McCracken Court inside Simon Skjodt Assembly Hall. Additionally, these four teams will be given reserve seating during Hoosier Hysteria.
About the Student Athletic Board
The Student Athletic Board is the only student organization on campus that is directly affiliated with the athletic department. SAB is known as the "Spirit Behind IU Athletics" and actively runs and leads the Crimson Guard student section, and plans/organizes several on-campus events. SAB also serves as the voice of the student body and meets regularly with IU Athletic Department staff to discuss important issues and to ensure all students have the best possible athletics experience during their time at Indiana University.
