Hoosiers Return from ITA Ohio Valley Regional

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – The Indiana University men's tennis team wrapped up the ITA Ohio Valley Regional presented by Oracle in Knoxville, Tenn. today.
The Hoosiers brought nine members to defend their singles and doubles crown they won last year.
On Friday, the Hoosiers got off to a near perfect start as sophomore Afonso Salgado, sophomore Antonio Cembellin, junior Keivon Tabrizi, junior Raheel Manji, and senior Stefan Lugonjic notched opening round wins.
Manji rolled all the way to the round of 16 before losing to a player from East Tennessee State.
Everyone else who had opening round wins, fell in the next round but made the best of their remaining matches.
Cembellin and sophomore Oliver Sec went on to have three straight consolation wins. Senior Matthew McCoy recovered from an opening round loss to rattle off four consolation wins.
On the doubles side, Cembellin and Manji won their first match against a pair from Lipscomb University. The duo was ousted in the round of 16.
Another Hoosiers doubles pair in Salgado and Brodney won their opener but fell in their next match.
Next for the Hoosiers, a select few will take part in the ITF Futures tournament in Birmingham, Ala. The event will go from Oct. 28-Oct. 30.
