Setting The Scene
•Indiana (3-4, 1-3 B1G East) hosts Maryland (5-2, 2-2 B1G East) on Saturday, Oct 29. Kickoff is set for 3:30 p.m. EDT at Memorial Stadium (52,929; FieldTurf) on ESPNU.
•This is the fifth meeting between the two programs and the third game in Bloomington.
•IU leads the all-time series, 3-1, with a 47-28 win on Nov. 21, 2015 (A), a 13-6 victory on Nov. 9, 1935 (A) and a 17-14 win on Nov. 17, 1934 (H). The Terrapins defeated the Hoosiers, 37-15, in Bloomington on Sept. 27, 2014.
The Coaches
•Kevin Wilson is in his sixth season as Indiana head coach. Wilson led IU to the 2015 New Era Pinstripe Bowl, the program's first postseason appearance since 2007. He has mentored three first team All-Americans, 25 players who have either moved on to the NFL or received camp invites and a five-year program record 111 Academic All-Big Ten honorees. The offense has set 56 school records during his tenure.
•D.J. Durkin was named the 36th head football coach in Maryland history on Dec. 2, 2015. He served as the defensive coordinator and linebackers coach at Michigan (2015) and Florida (2013-14) prior to his arrival in College Park.

•Indiana's defense is holding opponents to 377.6 total yards per game, an improvement of 131.9 from last season, the largest improvement in the country.
•In addition, the Hoosiers have held their foes to 96.7 fewer passing yards (2nd nationally) and 12.5 fewer points (5th).
•IU is T-2nd in the Big Ten in defensive touchdowns (2, T-15th nationally), T-4th in interceptions (7, T-42nd) and 6th in pass efficiency defense (114.5, 29th).
•Indiana held Northwestern scoreless and to just 37 yards in the second half. It marked the defense's second scoreless half of the season (first half against Ball State).
•The Hoosiers and San Diego State are the only two teams in the country that have not surrendered a 30-plus yard rush.
•For the 5th straight week, junior LB Tegray Scales led the team in tackles. He recorded his 5th consecutive game in double digits against the Wildcats, the 2nd-longest active streak nationally, posting 10 stops (9 solo) and 2.5 tackles for loss.
•Scales' five double-digit games put him T-1st in the Big Ten (T-5th nationally).
•In the Big Ten, he is 1st in solo stops (T-3rd nationally), T-2nd in TFLs (T-19th) and 3rd in tackles per game (9.6, T-23rd).
•CB Rashard Fant's 14 passes defended and 13 pass breakups are 1st in the nation.
•Indiana is 2nd in the Big Ten in passing offense (289.9, 25th nationally), 4th in yards per completion (13.3), total offense (429.1) and completion percentage (59.8), and 5th in passing efficiency (134.5).
•IU is the only B1G team with three wideouts in the top 11 in yardage and receptions: Nick Westbrook (563-2nd; 30 T-8th)Ricky Jones (539-4th; 31-7th) and Mitchell Paige (372-11th; 35-T-4th).
•Westbrook posted a career-high 10 catches for 126 yards at NU, his 3rd career 100-yard game, all this season.
