Crist Honored as Big Ten Athlete of the Week

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – Jason Crist was named the Big Ten's cross country athlete of the week, the league office announced on Wednesday. This marks the first time this season that an IU runner was honored by the conference.
Crist led the 14th ranked Hoosiers to a victory at the Rim Rock Farm Classic this past Saturday in Lawrence, Kansas. He finished third in a very competitive 8k field with a season best time of 24:09. Indiana finished with five runners in the top 10 and scored 23 points to defeat host Kansas, among others.
Crist, a redshirt senior, has earned three top five finishes in as many meets this season, including a victory in the season's opening meet in Bloomington. Last season, Jason was named an All-Big Ten performer after a sixth place finish in the Conference Championships.
Crist, and the rest of the Hoosiers, will be back in action next weekend (October 14-15) in either the Bradley Classic or the Pre-Nationals Meet in Terre Haute.
