BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – The Indiana University men's and women's swimming and diving teams debuted the second installment of the GRIT series on Tuesday.
The GRIT series focuses on members of the Indiana Swimming & Diving team and what GRIT means to them. The video series hopes to give fans a glimpse in to the minds of members of the Indiana Swimming & Diving program.
"Blake is the epitome of a gritty racer," IU head swimming coach Ray Looze said. "At the 2016 U.S. Olympic Swimming Trials, he went from a seed time of 27th place to a 12th place in semifinals and ultimately a sixth place in the final to secure his US Olympic berth. At Rio, he parlayed that into a gold medal, illustrating a rags to riches story with a dream come true ending."
