Postgame Notes
• In the last five seasons, the Hoosiers are 6-1 against top five teams in Assembly Hall (8-1 against top 10 and 16-2 against top 25).
• With the victory, Indiana improves to 14-0 in Assembly Hall this season. The last time a Hoosier basketball team started 14-0 at home was the 2006-07 season, when that squad finished the year with a perfect 15-0 mark in Assembly Hall.
• The Hoosiers are 10-2 in Big Ten play, their best start since the 2012-13 season when they started 11-2.
• Indiana leads the all-time series against Iowa 99-75 and have won four of the last five meetings between the two teams.
• The Hawkeyes took a 60-56 lead at the 9:35 mark of the second period and the Hoosiers used a 19-6 run over the next 5:01 of game action to take a 75-66 lead with 4:34 to go. The run included a stretch where the Hoosiers made six consecutive field goals.
• Under Tom Crean the Hoosiers have won 20 or more games for the fourth time.
• 10 different players scored for the Hoosiers in the game.
• Indiana held a 28-0 advantage against Iowa in bench points.
• Indiana held a 39-35 edge in rebounding. Through the first 25 games, Indiana has been outrebounded just twice and have NOT been out-rebounded in Big Ten play this season.
• The Hoosiers 19 offensive rebounds are tied for the third most this year and most in a Big Ten game.
• Indiana shot 18-of-21 (85.7 percent) from the free-throw line.
• The Hoosiers had five players score in double-figures. The last time this happened was 12/12/15 against McNeese State.
• The Hoosiers connected on nine 3-point field goals in the game and have totaled at least nine in 18 games this season.
• Senior Kevin Yogi Ferrell scored 14 points and now has 1,807 points in his IU career, which is seventh all-time at IU. He needs 173 more points to pass Alan Henderson for sixth on that list (1,979).
• The 14 points for Ferrell also give him 967 in conference play for his career. He is 38 points behind Kent Benson (1,004) for 10th on the all-time scoring list in Big Ten games at Indiana.
• Ferrell also dished out one assist against Iowa to extend his IU record to 578. That total is just nine shy of breaking into the top 10 in Big Ten history (Eric Snow – 599). He also has 285 in conference play, which is third in program history, just 28 behind Quinn Buckner for second (313).
• Ferrell also made two 3-point field goals in the game and has made at least one is 89 out of his last 90 games.
• Junior Troy Williams scored 13 points and added seven rebounds, two assists and one steal in 29 minutes. He is now 29 points away from becoming the 49th player in IU history to score 1,000 points and the eighth under Tom Crean.
• Sophomore Robert Johnson scored 13 points and grabbed four rebounds. He added two assists.
• Freshman Thomas Bryant scored 10 points and added seven rebounds and two assists in 14 minutes.
• Redshirt senior Max Bielfeldt scored 10 points and added four rebounds, two blocks, two steals and one assist in 25 minutes.
• Junior Collin Hartman scored seven points and grabbed seven rebounds. He added two assists, one blocks and one steal in 28 minutes.
• Redshirt senior Nick Zeisloft scored nine points on 3-of-5 from 3-point range.
