BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - Daniel Kuhn has added another award to an already tremendous sophomore season. Earlier today he was named as the USATF Indiana Athlete of the Month for January.
Kuhn had a dominating stretch in the month. To start out the month he took first in the 800m run with an Indiana v. Tennessee Dual Meet record time of 1:49.53. His next achievement came in the Rod McCravy Memorial when he set the school record in the 800m run with a time of 1:48.13. That time came just one day after he split a 1:47.16 for the winning distance medley relay. Just six days following that record-breaking performance he broke the school record in the 600m run with a time of 1:16.91.
During the month he has also been named the Big Ten Track Athlete of the Week.
Currently Kuhn's time in the 800m ranks as the 14th best in the nation and his 600m run time ranks as the fastest nationally.
