Brown Named Big Ten Golfer of the Week

The redshirt freshman posted a final round 62 at the Loyola Intercollegiate
BLOOMINGTON, Indiana - Indiana redshirt freshman Jake Brown was named Big Ten Men's Golfer of the Week on Wednesday, the conference office announced. It's the first weekly honor in Brown's young career as he helped the Hoosiers to a second place finish at the Loyola Intercollegiate.
Brown opened the tournament with a 6-under par round of 66 and then after a frustrating 74 in round two, came back with a vengeance to post 10-under par 62 in the final round and finish the tournament in second place individually. The 202 overall score is tied for the sixth-best tournament score in IU history while the 62 is the second-best single round score in school history, just one shy of tying the school record set by Jeff Overton in 2004.
The accolade is the first weekly honor from the conference office David Mills picked up the honors on Sept. 11, 2013.
Indiana will be back in action April 1-2 at the NYX Hoosier Invitational, where they will serve as the hosts at the IU Golf Course on campus in Bloomington.
