Wilhite Named Big Ten Player of the Week

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – Indiana Baseball's Brian Wilhite has been named Big Ten Player of the Week, the Conference office announced on Monday. This is Indiana's third league honor this season and the first of Wilhite's career.
Wilhite hit .562 on the week with three home runs, while driving in 10 and scoring seven runs on nine hits. The senior belted two home runs against Butler on Wednesday, including a grand slam, while driving in a career-high six runs. For the second-straight game on Friday, Wilhite hit another grand slam and collected two hits in a victory at Indiana State. The Barrington, Ill. native is currently on a 10-game hitting streak.
Indiana has two midweek games this week at Bart Kaufman Field, beginning on Tuesday with a 6:05 matchup with the Cincinnati Bearcats. IU will close out the homestand on Wednesday against Evansville before heading on the road this weekend to take on Rutgers.
