Ferrell Named Second Team All-American by USA Today

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - After leading Indiana University to its second outright Big Ten title in four years, senior point guard Kevin "Yogi" Ferrell has been named second-team All-American by USA Today. Ferrell, a product of Park Tudor High School in Indianapolis averaged 17.1 points, 5.5 assists, 3.9 rebounds and 1.2 steals per game.
Ferrell is the only player in Big Ten History with 1,900 points, 600 assists, 400 rebounds and 250 three-pointers and is IU's all-time leader in games started at 133 and assists with 607 (Michigan's Gary Grant had 2,200 points, 700 assists and 400 rebounds). He has 1,909 career points to remain in seventh place on the IU career scoring list. He finished second in school history in assists in Big Ten games with 314, 11 behind Michael Lewis. Ferrell remains 10th overall in Big Ten history with 607. Ferrell remains in second place in Indiana history in 3-point field goals made with 262 and finished first overall at IU in 3-pointers made in Big Ten play with 159.
He is the 45th player in IU history to earn a first, second or third team All-American accolade.
