In Louisville at the Kentucky Derby Festival Basketball Classic, Indiana signees Curtis Jones (Richmond, Virginia) and De'Ron Davis (Overland Park, Colorado) were named to the White team as they took on the Maroon team.
Jones finished the game shooting 11-of-24 from the field on his way to 25 points off the bench – 23 points in the first three quarters - in addition to six rebounds, four assists and two steals as the White team lost to Maroon by a score of 144-132.
Davis was unable to participate due to injury.
While that event was taking place in Louisville, the most recent signee – Devonte Green from Long Island Lutheran High School in New York – was taking part in the Jordan Brand regional game at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York.
Green finished the game with nine points, seven rebounds, eight assists (game high) and seven steals (game high) to help Team New York pull out the 148-128 win over Team East.
Although he shot just 4-of-10 from the floor, Green told Newsday (read original article) after the game that scoring wasn't his goal in the game, despite averaging 20.3 points per game this season and shooting over 42 percent from the 3- point line during the season.
"Everybody knows what everyone's trying to do," Green said after shooting 4-for-10 for the game. "Everyone's trying to score, shoot the ball. I'm trying to stand out for everything else."
Jones, Davis and Green are joined in the incoming freshman class by Grant Gelon (Crown Point, Indiana). Gelon was named a High Honorable Mention All-State by the Associated Press this season and was recently named to the 2016 Indiana All-Star Team.
