BLOOMINGTON, Indiana – Indiana senior Camille Chevalier was named Big Ten Women's Golfer of the Week on Wednesday, the conference office announced. It's the first weekly honor for Chevalier and the first for an IU women's golfer since Elizabeth Tong won the award on April 22, 2015.
Chevalier, a native of Aix-en Provence, France, posted a score of 213 (-3) at the Lady Buckeye Invitational last weekend to earn her first collegiate tournament win. The win was capped with an outstanding final round 68, which was 4-under par and one of only two sub-par rounds in the final round.
The win by Chevalier helped the Hoosiers tie for second place with Ohio State, marking the third straight team finish of fourth place or better for the Hoosiers.
Indiana is seeded No. 7 heading into the Big Ten Championship at The Fort Golf Resort in Indianapolis this weekend, which starts Friday morning.
