BLOOMINGTON, Indiana - Indiana University men's basketball player OG Anunoby has announced he will return to the Hoosiers for his sophomore season and not declare for the 2016 NBA Draft.
"I will not be declaring for the NBA Draft this year and will return to Indiana University," Anunoby said. "I love my teammates and coaches and look forward to getting better every day with their help."
Anunoby played in 34 games for the Hoosiers during his freshman season and averaged 4.9 points and 2.6 rebounds while shooting 56.9 percent from the floor. His numbers increased in Big Ten play, where he posted averages of 5.8 points and 3.3 rebounds and shot 40.9 percent from behind the 3-point line while blocking 13 shots and coming away with 17 steals.
In the NCAA Tournament, Anunoby scored a season-high 14 points on 6-of-7 shooting from the floor in the win over Chattanooga and then tallied seven points, three rebounds, three blocked shots and two steals against Kentucky.
The 6-8 forward is a native of Jefferson City, Missouri, and will return to an IU team that is expected to be ranked among the top 15 teams in the country at the start of next season.
