IU Takes 10th at Big Ten Championship

NEWBURGH, Indiana – In the final round of the 2016 Big Ten Men's Golf Championship at Victoria National Golf Club, the Indiana men's golf team posted a team score of 304 to finish in 10th place with a total score of 906.
Junior Andrew Havill finished the weekend as the top individual performer for the Hoosiers, as his final round 76 gave him a total score of 221 (+5) and a tie for 28th. The Carmel native was unable to find any birdies on his first nine holes and went out in 5-over par. But on the way in, he found three birdies to go with two bogeys.
While redshirt freshman Jake Brown did not have his best outing on Sunday, posting an 80, he still finished tied for 36th with a total score of 225 (+9).
The round of the day belonged to sophomore Brendon Doyle, as he led IU with four birdies in his round and posted 2-over par 74. After birdies on his first two holes, he moved to 3-under on his round with a birdie on his sixth hole. But back-to-back double bogeys followed by a bogey saw him sitting at 2-over par after nine holes. He evened things out on his back nine, posting seven pars, one birdie and one bogey. His total score of 238 put him in 68th place.
Max Kollin closed out his IU career with birdies on his final two holes to card a 78 on Sunday. His total score of 232, 16-over par, was good for a tie for 55th.
Keegan Vea finished just two shots behind Kollin for the tournament, registering an overall score of 234 (+18) and a tie for 58th.
