BLOOMINGTON, Indiana – The Indiana women's golf team was one of 72 teams selected to advance to the NCAA Regional in Bryan, Texas, the NCAA announced tonight on the Golf Channel. The tournament takes place May 5-7 and will be played at the Traditions Club Golf Course, hosted by Texas A&M.
"It has been quite a ride over the last couple months," Indiana head coach Clint Wallman said. "It's really awesome to see the girls rewarded for all of their hard work. To play at the level they did for the last two months, knowing that they had to or their season was over, it is a tribute to their mental toughness and resiliency. I could not be more proud of this entire group."
The teams joining IU at the Bryan Regional will be (in order of seeding) UCLA, Georgia, Arizona, Kent State (Mid-American), Furman (Southern), Texas A&M, TCU, Texas, SMU, Louisville, Miami (Fla.), Tulane, Campbell (Big South), Texas State (Sun Belt), Delaware (Colonial Athletic), Lamar (Southland), Quinnipiac (Metro Atlantic)
Indiana is one of six Big Ten programs to advance to the postseason, joining Northwestern, Ohio State, Purdue, Michigan State and Michigan.
This will mark the fifth time that IU head coach Clint Wallman has guided the Hoosiers into the postseason (2007, 2008, 2010, 2013, 2016).
