IU Ranked 9th in Final Coaches Poll

BLOOMINGTON, Indiana - The Indiana University men's basketball team which finished 27-8 and advanced to the Sweet Sixteen for the third time in five years was ranked ninth in the final USA Today Coaches Poll released this afternoon. The Hoosiers defeated Chattanooga and #10 Kentucky before falling to national runner up North Carolina in the East Region semifinal.
This also is the third time in five years that IU has finished the season nationally ranked by the coaches ranking seventh in 2013 and 13th in 2012.

• IU led the Big Ten in scoring, field goal percentage and three-point field goals made per game (9.9).
NCAA TOURNAMENT
• Indiana's record is 66-34 in 39 NCAA Tournament appearances. IU is just one of seven schools that have played 100 NCAA Tournament games.
• The 39 appearances and 66 wins rank seventh all-time in NCAA history.
• Indiana advanced to the Sweet 16 for the third time in five years. That marks the most successful run for IU since the Hoosiers went to the Sweet 16 in 1991, 92, 93 and 94.
• The Hoosiers were the only program to play two top 10 teams in the first three rounds when it faced (10) Kentucky and (3) North Carolina.
