BLOOMINGTON, Ind. — Indiana baseball (30-18, 14-6 Big Ten) took game two against the Illinois Fighting Illini, 3-1, on Saturday afternoon.

Sophomore Logan Sowers led the Hoosiers' offense with two RBI, including a home run, while junior Craig Dedelow picked up a team-best three hits and scored a run. Freshman Luke Miller and senior Brian Wilhite collected Indiana's other multi-hit efforts, with freshman Ryan Fineman delivering the team's other RBI.

Senior Caleb Baragar went seven innings in the win, scattering five hits with one run. He stuck out three. Junior Jake Kelzer tossed two innings of one-hit action, while punching out four batters to earn his fourth save of the season.

Illinois broke out to an early lead in the top of the first, utilizing three base hits to plate an early run. Baragar limited Illinois' chances from there and held the Fighting Illini to just two hits over his next six innings of work.

Indiana found its answer in the bottom of the third when Sowers stroked a two-out blast to center field and evened the game at 1-1. Dedelow's lead-off double in the top of the fifth set the Hoosiers up to take the lead. Sowers advanced Dedelow to third on a groundout, and he came around to score on Fineman's sacrifice fly to deep center field.

The Hoosiers tacked on an insurance run in the seventh inning. Junior Alex Krupa led off with a single to center field and went first-to-third on Dedelow's third hit of the day. Sowers brought Krupa home on a sacrifice fly to make it 3-1.

Illinois saw limited chances on the base paths until the top of the eighth, but would leave two stranded. Kelzer settled down to strike out the side in the ninth.

Indiana looks to take the rubber match of this three-game series tomorrow at 1:05 p.m. Before the game, the Hoosiers will honor its departing seniors in its annual Senior Day.
