Clute Earns Academic All-District Honors

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – The 2016 College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Academic All-District Men's and Women's Track & Field and Cross Country Teams have been released to recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances athletically and in the classroom.
Senior Sydney Clute has been recognized as a First Team All-District honoree and will advance to the CoSIDA Academic All-America Team ballot, where first-, second- and third-team All-America honorees will be selected in June.
Clute, a native of Greenwood, Ind., has been dedicated to her academics and is pursuing a degree in Business Marketing.
Clute is coming off of a historic weekend in Lincoln, Neb. at the Big Ten Championships. In three consecutive jumps she broke the Ed Weir facility record, the Big Ten Championships record, and the school record in the pole vault. She captured her second straight gold medal at the Championships with a jump of 4.42m (14ft 6in).
Clute is currently in Jacksonville, Fla., competing at the NCAA East Regional, where she is seeded sixth in the pole vault. She is set to compete on Friday May 27.
