Huber Named Big Ten Player of the Week

ROSEMONT, Ill. – Following a weekend that saw her hit three home runs in a series win against Maryland, senior Michelle Huber has been named Big Ten Player of the Week, the conference announced on Monday.
The Carmel, Ind. native hit .571 with a 1.857 slugging percentage on the weekend, scoring seven runs while also driving in seven. In Friday's 12-1 win against the Terrapins, she smacked a career-high two home runs, both three-run shots to tally six RBI, tied for second-most in a single game in program history.
Her big weekend at the plate came after knocking her second career grand slam in Indiana's 5-3 win against Ohio State last Sunday, making it four homers in four games for Huber.
The accolade is the second of her career as she was named Big Ten Player of the Week on April 13, 2015. Additionally, this is the first Player of the Week award for Indiana this season. The Hoosiers saw freshmen pitchers Tara Trainer and Josie Wood earned Co-Freshman of the Week four times this season.
The Hoosiers wrapped up the regular season at Maryland over the weekend and will face Wisconsin on Thursday in the first round of the Big Ten Tournament. For more information, click here.
