After being selected as the No. 2 pick in the 2013 NBA Draft with the Orlando Magic, former IU All-American and Sporting News National Player of the Year Victor Oladipo has been traded to the Oklahoma City Thunder along with Ersan Ilyasova, and the rights to this year's No. 11 pick Domantas Sabonis. The Magic will receive Serge Ibaka from the Thunder.
In three years with the Magic, Oladipo averaged 15.9 points, 4.0 assists and 1.6 steals. He started 167 games in three seasons. He averaged a career-high 4.8 rebounds.
IU Coach Tom Crean who is serving as a guest analyst for the 2016 NBA Draft on Yahoo's The Vertical said this about the Oladipo trade. "I'm sitting here, still stunned. I'm emotionally invested in this Victor Oladipo piece. I would be sitting at home right now saying 'Oh, tremendous'. It's a big year for him. But (OKC) just grabbed a guy that is three years in and averaging 16 points per game. It's a big move."
