Brown Leads Trio of Hoosiers at Indiana Amateur

BLOOMINGTON, Indiana – The Indiana men's golf team had three current members of the program finish inside the Top 27 at the Indiana Amateur Championship at Elcona Country Club. The top performance was turned in by rising redshirt sophomore Jake Brown (Carmel, Indiana), who finished in a tie for fourth place.
Brown opened the four round tournament with scores of 76 and 75 before carding a 71 in round three to sit in a tie for fifth place entering the final round. He would get to within two shots of the lead during the final round, but eventually posted a 73 to tie for fourth, five shots behind the leader.
Andrew Havill, a rising senior for the Hoosiers, earned a 17th place finish at 14-over par over the four rounds with a score of 302. He began his tournament with scores of 76 and 78 the first two rounds before closing with a 76 in round three and a 72 in the final round.
Jack Sparrow, who is also a rising redshirt sophomore, posted a score of 308 over the four rounds and finished in a tie for 27th at 20-over par. He struggled out of the gate with an 81 in round one, but came back with a 75 in round two and a 72 in his third round before carding an 80 on the final day.
